Training Camp
Monday, September 1st, 2008Intro:
We’re not going to lie, Training Camp is TOUGH! The very purpose is to prepare you for the world of Arts, Media, & Entertainment. There are no “hand-outs” in our industry, so the Un World Life Training Camp serves to build your skills, increase your knowledge, and empower you to face obstacles in your path to success. And guess what…both of us have gone through this same Training Camp in 7 days! The team now is allowed 14 days to complete it, so it can be done. “Here’s a Tip: ASK us how we did it, our advice is free of charge”). As always, training camp is not a mandatory factor in your current contractor agreement.
It is however highly encouraged…even an Olympic swimmer needs practice laps, a Hall of Fame football player needs camp & game film, and World Renowned musicians & artists still do PRACTICE! So if you think you’re truly good enough to “wing it” 24/7, we have NO PROBLEM with that at all. Just make sure the RESULTS are shown when it’s game time. As for everyone who is entering Training Camp or pushing to make the Full Roster, good luck and remember…the Better you Practice, the Better you Play.
Part 1 (Week 1)
General business and entrepreneurship refresher. The purpose here is to sharpen and refresh your business skills. This module should take no more than 1-2 hours.
Sales: “the transfer of something to the ownership or use of somebody else, or the provision of something, e.g. a service, in exchange for an agreed amount of money”
Distribution: “the process of delivering, dividing up and/or giving out something shared by a number of people”
Marketing: “the business activity of presenting products or services in such a way as to make them desirable”

Management: “the organizing and controlling of the affairs of a business or a sector of a business, the skillful handling or use of something such as resources”
* Offer Case Study reading, + online video or Podcast CS for each Area. >>> Simply reference a Relative “inspiration” for the section, let team members find their OWN unique solutions.
* 5 Total Questions, 1 questions for each section.
>>> Create the test in iContact, and link it up right here. From there we can get the e-mail showing they completed the section.
“Test & Module Logic”: Cumulative multiple choice “tests” that literally have NO “wrong” answers, just simply have one answer that suits the 5 different Un World Department agendas “better”. Simply ask the new recruit to Answer the question with the answer THEY feel is best and most effective. (This will stretch the mind, into simply looking at ALL pieces of the puzzle, and learning HOW they interact together, so in the future, new decisions will be made with a more comprehensive approach!)
Part 2 (Week 2)
Un World’s media and business crashcourse. The purpose here is to familiarize yourself with Un World’s different business areas, so that you can better have a feel for the “big picture” and how it all comes together. This module should take no more than 1-2 hours.

Skills Training
1) Communication = Literally send an e-mail (something logical please, lol, and “cc” it to the office) to EVERY team member currently on the Team Roster (advice: just send One group e-mail, don’t try to send out tons of individual e-mails).
2) Independence = Create and submit your very own unique weekly schedule for Un World activities. (It’s not required that you stick to this schedule for the next 10 years, that’s the beauty of working for yourself, Flexibility!)
3) Requirements = “Go Get” treasure hunt. Have lists of 5 items each. People, Places, Business News, Cultural Items World-Wide, Cultural History.
4) Campaign = “Self Promotion Blitz”. Somehow, someway, get out here online and explain to people WHO you are and WHAT you do. The next step is to ASK people for their e-mail address and secure a committed e-Mail from them (this shows that they want to hear from you again!) Go after 5 e-mail addresses.
5) Deadlines = 6 (3 per week) mini-treasure hunts due literally ON the day that it is specified to be e-mailed. Tasks like “send in an article from NYTimes, or PMP, or Entrepreneur, or NCLR, or Al Jazeera, or BBC, or Democracy Now OR on a SPECIFIC SUBJECT MATTER OR TOPIC!”, just have them send the url or copy & paste, or whatever works best for them.
