Welfare, Rescue Plan, and Stimulus Talks

Line 1, Average Joe (Welfare): amazing to see we’re all in the same boat
Line 2, Corporate Executive (Economic Rescue Plan): Jeez, we really need the taxpayers…oh i mean consumers…well, “People” now to help us out
J. Avery, Citizen On Patrol: it’s a shame all these hoodlums here hopping in the welfare line…thank god for these big corporations paving the way for our country

Analysis/Discussion:

Quite amazing to see the “double standard” in play right now. Your typical corporate executive & republican-minded American has for years complained about “those people” on Welfare. In their eyes it’s just a 100% handout, regardless of the reality of the situation. The working class has never truly garnered any respect from the upper & “middle” class.

So to have a bailout in excess of $700 billion and not call it a “handout” is pretty amazing to me. Aren’t we all to just pull ourselves up from our bootstraps? Isn’t that the American Way? So, then why are the taxpayers paying for the financial world’s mistakes?

At least Bernanke is entertaining the idea of a second stimulus package to “bail out” your average American citizen. We do pay taxes you know, lol.

In the midst of everything, it seems that America has lost some of it’s original virtues and cashed them in for “fame & fortune” ideals. Sub-prime, balloon-rate mortgages… simply put, if you can’t afford the house, you CAN’T afford it. The greed of lenders, greed of financial institutions, greed of consumers has led this whole thing into a downward spiral.

As you know, MORE layoffs are imminent and any hopes at the majority of Americans getting that long awaited “Pay Raise” is out of the question. So what’s a good solution? One of several answers is self-sufficiency. NOT strictly being an entrepreneur, but perhaps thinking like one and managing expenses like one would be beneficial. Yes, from the doctors & lawyers, to the Low-Wage W2 workers in retail or warehouses. Assets vs. Liabilities!
